Spring Break
In the Beach
School can be so tedious sometimes. Writing papers, attending classes, cramming for tests and finding time to party is just hard. Not everyone is equipped to be a part-time student, full-time partygoer. Lucky for everyone, Spring Break exists to break the monotony of college life.

Everyone wants to have a good time during Spring Break. You won’t hear anyone say, "Well, I hope my Spring Break is dull and drab and completely uneventful," in an exasperated snit, as if to sneer at anyone who even deigns mentioning the possibility of fun. No matter how you interpret fun, no matter your predilections, Spring Break was made for you, the student. Well, it was probably conceived and created for other purposes, but there’s no good reason why you, an enterprising individual, shouldn’t capitalize on this and turn it into one of the best weeks of your life. Get ready to remember – or forget – this vacation for the rest of your life as we map out the top ten best spring break destinations.

10. The Greek Islands

Corfu
from the hilltops of Kanoni
Modern civilization was born in Greece. Should it be any wonder that it made this list? From the ruins in Athens to the beaches of Corfu, there’s a lot to do that would make your Spring Break memorable. You could play tourist and explore the ruins of the world’s first democracy. Bask in the glory of Greece and soak up all the culture there is to be had. Of course, you can also choose to play the part of the plain old student and participate in all the glorious fun that Greece has to offer. The Greek islands are known for their parties and beaches, like those in Myokonos and Corfu, for instance. Enjoy your vacation away from home, with just enough of a reminder of what home is like. Your family might not be going with you on your vacation, but you can be rest assured that a sizable chunk of the American student population will.

9. Ibiza

Ibiza
West End Sant Antoni
Ibiza is party central. It’s not exactly the first choice for a lot of college students because of the price tag attached. The upside is that when you consider all the adventures you can have, it’s going to be worth it. World famous DJs and A-list celebrities regularly flock to Ibiza to live it up. Why wouldn’t they? Club Privilege has a capacity of 10,000 people and has just about everything and more than you would expect in a club. For the outrageously wild, there are even live sex shows here. For those looking for a less crazy atmosphere, dozens of other clubs can be found on the island, as well. The beaches aren’t bad either.

8. Cabo San Lucas

Staying true to the theme of beaches and parties as primary reasons for choosing a Spring Break destination, Cabo San Lucas appears at number eight.

Mexico has long been famous for its notorious parties during Spring Break. Over the last few decades, Cabo San Lucas has definitely come into its own with its patronage of celebrities. They gave it the name it has always deserved, but make no mistake about it, Cabo San Lucas has been a hidden jewel way before it was featured in any shows or magazine.

The tremendous upside to vacationing in Cabo San Lucas is the flexibility it affords guests. There are hotels all over the area to accommodate your budget. There are leisure activities to cater to every lifestyle. You can scuba dive, fish, or ride horses. The nightlife isn’t too shabby either. Cabo San Lucas comes alive at night. Hip nightclubs are scattered all over for your enjoyment. Local Mexican alcohol is sure to keep your partying spirit high. Most clubs are known for an "anything goes" philosophy. That’s the mentality you had when you booked this trip, wasn’t it?

7. Bahamas

The Bahamas is truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. From white sandy beaches to lush plant life to limestone caves, you can’t go wrong with the Bahamas. Its deep blue waters are practically begging you to jump right on in.

Maybe you’ll even forego swimming and then choose to enjoy the water through different water sports.

Then again, your description of Spring Break wouldn’t seem as legendary if you never talked about any of the wild parties you went to, or the wonderful clubs that were hopping ’til dawn. Once again, the Bahamas does not disappoint. In fact, more than clubs, more than bars, more than parties, the Bahamas offers a wide array of casinos. The nightlife in the Bahamas is so vibrant that it begins resemble Vegas.

Despite the seemingly unfriendly attitude Florida has towards to its Spring-Break tourists, Miami Beach is becoming a common destination. While old staples like Ft. Lauderdale have decided that your thrill-seeking, party-going ways are unwelcome, institutions in South Beach have decided that you’re exactly what they want. They’re offering nice, student-priced packages that’ll be easy on the pocket and packed with fun. In fact, some residents, driven away by the influx of drunk college students choose to leave at exactly this time of year and rent out their condos or houses.

They recognize that on Spring Break, you’re not looking for culture, and you’re certainly not looking for a hefty price tag. They know your expectations and they attempt to deliver for affordable prices.

Jamaica on Spring Break is all about leaving city living and stresses behind. The accommodations are affordable, and alcohol is too.

Kingston Jamaica
Although the drinking age is 18, some places will not ask for identification prior to serving you. A word of warning: you may have wanted to engage in a little experimentation, but drugs are illegal. The traditional view that "Jamaica = pot" may have its relevance, but it doesn’t mean that all-out use of the drug is considered permissible. You could be arrested for it so to avoid spending your vacation in a Jamaican jail. Just say no and have more than a healthy amount of skepticism to anyone who tries to sell you any. There are more than enough clubs to satisfy your partying ways; hopefully, you won’t need to use illicit substances to enjoy yourself.

3. Acapulco

There are also amazing clubs catering to possibly every musical preference. You’re sure to get moving on the floor with that hottie you’ve been eyeing all day. If you’re looking for an adventurous Spring Break, then Acapulco is the spot for you.
