Finding some thing to recycle
With the increasing price of home renovating materials and furniture accessories as well as the unbelievable service fees of interior decorators, refurnishing or redecorating your home is probably the last thing on your budget list. After all, it is more practical to use money for items such as clothes, food or gasoline.

Did you know that you can still redecorate your place without having to spend a lot? How? Just look around you and you will see hundreds of recyclable and inexpensive materials that you can use to re-accessorize your home.

Everyday, items like soda cans, plastic bottles, metal sheets and pieces of tiles are thrown into the waste basket. However, these pieces of “garbage” are in fact valuable and useful materials that can be turned into beautiful house décor. All that you need are few tools, lots of imagination and voila! — you have an inexpensive work of art!

To help you in your house craft project, here is a top ten list of recyclable materials that you can use for house decoration.

10. Aluminum Cans

If you love drinking canned soda or beer, then you probably have a lot of these scattered somewhere in your kitchen. But instead of throwing them away, use them to create wonderful art decor and a number of useful materials.

If you often have coins for change, why not save them in your aluminum coin bank? Start by cleaning the can thoroughly. Once the can is dry, you can decorate its facade depending on your taste. You can cut out images from a magazine and glue them onto the can. You can also use beads and sequins for a more elegant touch.

Aside from a coin bank, you can also use aluminum cans as pasta containers. Remember those tall beer tin cans? Well, clean them thoroughly and let it dry. Decorate the facade using paper cutouts, shells and beads. Let the inside of the can dry and then place the pasta in it.

9. Rubber Tires

So you think those worn out rubber tires will be of no good use? Well, instead of stacking them in the garage, why don’t you create a kiddie rubber tire swing?

Rubber tire swings may look old fashioned, but kids love riding them. Add color to the swing by painting it with water based paint. Create bright and lovable designs like stars, suns and fish.

Next, get a thick rope and tie it on the upper part of the tire. Secure the tire by hanging it on a thick tree branch or onto a metal rod. Make sure to have a tight knot to prevent any playtime accidents.

8. Bottle Caps

Using a small electric drill, bore holes into the shell. Thread the shells onto a twine rope. Place about ten strings of shell strings onto an iron or bamboo rod. Hang them above a window and marvel at your new ocean-inspired curtain.
